Wrinkle is a paint defect which occurs during the formation of the film of the paint, characterized by the occurrence of wrinkles and ripples in it. It usually occurs when paint is applied in a thick layer and is more frequent in solvent paints.

 

CAUSES: Applying several coats of very thick paint. Application of the paint on a hot surface, or the use of very volatile solvents in the paint dilution.
