Dripping is a paint defect which occurs during the formation of the film of the paint or coating, characterized by the occurrence of ripples caused by the downward movement of the product when applied in excess.
CAUSES: Excessive paint dilution. Use of unsuitable solvents. Application of a very thick paint layer. Application of the paint at very cold temperatures or with very high humidity levels.
TREATMENT: If the paint is still wet, pass the roller back evenly. If the paint is already dry, sand the affected surface and paint again. Dilute the paint and use only the diluent indicated by the paint manufacturer. The paint must be applied in thin layers and the drying times between coats of paint must be respected. Do not apply the paint on days that are: very cold, very hot, very windy, very rainy or in days with too much humidity in the air.
