Coverage

Coverage

Low paint coverage. When applying a paint over a previously applied paint, after several coats of applied paint, the tint of the paint previously applied is still noticeable.

CAUSES: Excessive paint dilution. Previously applied paint of a very strong colour. Some colours require a bigger number of coats of paint (yellow, red and orange). If enough coats of paints are not applied, the coverage will have poor results. Lack of paint homogenisation. Very absorbent surfaces, such as plaster, brand new plaster, etc. Strong colours require a greater number of coats of paint. Use of unsuitable application materials.

TREATMENT: Comply with the manufacturer's instructions regarding the dilution of the paint. Thoroughly homogenize the paint before use. Apply a pigmented primer before applying paint. Apply more coats of paint. Pre-apply a white paint for the complete uniformity of the background and only then apply the finishing paint to the desired colour. Use the indicated materials to apply according to the type of paint.
